HHH Launches SMART Automation Solutions™  for a New Era of Glass Fabrication

A new approach combines AI vision, robotics and application-driven engineering to help fabricators boost efficiency, safety and visibility across production.

Winston-Salem, North Carolina — HHH Equipment Resources announced the launch of SMART Automation Solutions™, a new system designed to help connect workflows, increase productivity and take a more strategic approach to glass fabrication.

As labor shortages and rising production demands continue to impact the industry, many fabricators are looking for ways to do more with the equipment and teams they already have. SMART Automation Solutions™ helps address the bottlenecks, manual handoffs and material-handling challenges that can slow production, increase risk and limit growth.

“Many fabricators have already invested heavily in equipment, yet they’re still battling bottlenecks, labor constraints and inconsistent production flow,” said Ed Robles, Vice President of Sales. “That’s because some of the biggest opportunities exist between machines, not within them. SMART Automation Solutions™ helps close those gaps by bringing together robotics, AI vision and intelligent material handling to create a more connected production environment.”

Backed by more than 90 years glass fabrication experience, HHH developed SMART Automation Solutions™ around the operational issues fabricators face every day.

What makes SMART Automation Solutions™ different:

  • Application-driven engineering tailored to the fabrication process, not generic robotics.
  • AI-powered vision systems that streamline material flow, positioning and operational visibility.
  • Glass-specific end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) that delivers reliable handling across a wide range of glass types, sizes and applications.
  • Multi-layer safety protocols for reduced risk while supporting operational confidence.

Unlike traditional robotic systems, SMART Automation Solutions™ starts with the production challenge, not the technology. HHH evaluates workflow, material movement and production constraints before applying the right combination of robotics, AI-powered vision and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to improve flow across the operation. The result is a system built around the unique demands of glass fabrication rather than a one-size-fits-all solution.

HHH Equipment Resources will introduce SMART Automation Solutions™ at GlassBuild America 2026 in Las Vegas. Visitors to the HHH booth (booth #3945) will be able to see autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) in action. At booth IA-07 in the Innovation Lounge, visitors will have the opportunity to experience a virtual reality tour demonstrating how connected technologies can work together within a modern glass fabrication facility. Company leaders will also be available for media interviews on AI-enabled manufacturing, production optimization and the future of glass fabrication.
